Cakes and biscuits will be priced at 20p each.  Children will be developing an awareness of the use of money in their role as shop keepers.

Please sign up for a time on the sheet in nursery.

We started our baking today!  Here are some photos to whet your appetite!

Fun at PEEP!

We had a busy time and great fun at PEEP today.  We listened to stories, did ‘Row, Row, Row your Boat’, and made cards and pictures with craft materials.  We re-discovered how to make paper dolls, after hearing Julia Donaldson’s book, ‘The Paper Dolls’.  We talked about how children play, and what play was like when the grown ups were young.  The children used the natural resources to make pictures too.

Bears at the Beach

Adventure Teds were at the beach today. They went to Seacliff, near North Berwick. They got a bit stranded on a rock when the tide came in!  Fortunately they were rescued without getting wet.

They are looking forward to seeing all the boys and girls again when nursery resumes on Tuesday (21st).

Teds find some snow!

The Bears travelled north to the Cairngorms in search of some snow.  There was loads at Glenshee where lots of people were skiing and snowboarding.  The snow ploughs were working very hard to keep the snow off the road.  They went up to Cairn O’Mount and luckily the snow gates were open!  They got very cold paws in the snow.

Valentine’s Café

We had a very busy and successful café with both the Morning and Afternoon Groups!

For the last week we have been preparing by making signs, lists, deciding what to bake/drinks to serve and prices to charge.  We made menus and place cards.  We baked cinnamon biscuits and scones, and made and decorated cupcakes.

Today we opened our doors to families and friends for our Valentine’s café.  The children took orders, served the customers and took the money at the end.  We hope you enjoyed it!  Please leave a review below or complete a review sheet at nursery tomorrow (or both!).

Preparations!

Chinese New Year

We have been learning about Chinese New Year.  This year is the Year of the Rooster.  We have made a dragon and performed our own dragon dance, playing different percussion music.  We all got a chance to being the head of the dragon if we wanted to.  On Thursday we are going to have a Chinese Feast at nursery!

PEEP @ Loretto

Our second PEEP block started last Friday.  We shared songs and stories, got to know each other a little bit and decided on the topics to cover for the next few weeks.  The children (helped by their grown-ups) started to make books about what they like and don’t like, and took them home to finish.

If you would to find out more about PEEP, check out the page on the website, visit the Peeple website or speak to staff.

A further block may run after Easter if there is demand.  If you would be interested in joining that group please let Mrs Gaunt know.
