It’s the last day of the holiday for Ted.  He started off the day with a glass of orange juice and a Portuguese Custard Tart (called a Pastel de Nata).  He went to on a drive to the hills to see a reservoir that is used to store some water.  He was so hot he wanted to jump in and cool down!

Ted is looking forward to seeing all the children returning to nursery when the new term starts on Wednesday 17th August.  He is also looking forward to meeting lots of new friends as we have lots of children joining both the morning and afternoon groups in the next couple of weeks!

Today Ted went to the beach.  It was a bit hot on his paws!  Whilst he was near the coast he saw a pirate ship!  He was a bit worried the pirates might capture him, although that would have been a real adventure! He also saw lots of fishing boats at the harbour.

Ted had more fun climbing trees today.  Because it is so hot, there are orange, lemon and lime trees growing.  Ted climbed a lime tree and a lemon tree.  He had a barbecue for dinner and ate lots of vegetables to try to be healthy.

Today Ted went on a boat to see the caves that have been made along the coast.  It was a small boat and went into lots of the caves.  Ted likes going on boats because it is a bit cooler on the sea and the breeze cools his fur down!

Today we noticed lots of trees with numbers painted on them.  We got out of the car to investigate and discovered they were cork trees!  The bark is taken off every 10 years  without hurting the trees and is used to make placemats, tiles, bags, shoes, fishing floats as well as corks for bottles and loads of other things!  Of course, Ted wanted to climb the tree!  Mrs G has brought back some of the tree bark so the nursery children can have a look.
