Miss Burke’s Farewell Assembly

Yesterday, as part of the celebrations we are having for Miss Burke’s retirement, the whole school contributed to a farewell assembly. The classes sang songs, said prayers, recited Scottish poetry and performed Scottish Country dancing. The children tried to think of things that had been special to Miss Burke throughout her time as Headteacher of Loretto. Miss Burke had pride of place in the centre of the P7s and was joined by her sister and her niece.

Here are some pictures of the performers!

It was a lovely way to end the school day after having had Miss Burke’s mass in the morning.

You are a star Miss Burke! 🙂

  1. Thank you everyone for a wonderful celebration of my retirement. I have just enjoyed looking at the clips of the assembly and remembering all of your wonderful talents. I hope you all enjoy the summer break and I wish each and every one of you a very happy and successful time in the years ahead.
