P1 Dots inspired by Andy Goldsworthy

Today we went to the woods to collect natural materials to create our own pictures inspired by the artist Andy Goldsworthy.

We particularly looked at some of his “dot” art which helped us to think about what we would make. We worked with a partner collecting twigs, stones and leaves to make our pictures.
We think they look amazing.

Celebrating Book Week Scotland in the Nursery

This week (25th November – 1st December) is Book Week Scotland 2013 and to celebrate, we are taking part in the Scottish Children’s Book Awards.  We are reading the three nominated books pictured below and will be voting for our favourite.  Our votes will be added to those from children across Scotland and the winner will be announced in March 2014.

P6 Writing

This week P6 got their own choice of type of writing and their own choice of subject. Liam created a wanted poster, Ellie wrote an imaginary story about three girls who found a door in the middle of a park and Iona created a poster advertising a book about a man who fell through a crack and died. Some people made comics, some wrote letters and some wrote newspaper articles. We read our stories to each other outside in the cloakroom and peer assessed each other’s work. Writing was fun this week.

ICT Group Presentation

Three pupils from P6 & P7 work with Mrs Gill each week to enhance their ICT skills so that they can pass them on to their peers in the school.

In order to raise the profile of the group, they gave a presentation at Assembly on Friday explaining what they have been doing and what they aim to do in the current year.
Why don’t you have a look.
