Enrolling for Nursery 2020/21

Nursery enrolment: Enrol your child by 6 March 2020

Families with a child born between 1 March 2017 and 28 February 2018 are being encouraged to enrol their child in nursery before 6 March 2020 for 2020/21.

Older children, or those who have not yet registered for an early learning and childcare place, should also register by this date.

To register for a place:

  • Visit www.eastlothian.gov.uk/nurseryenrolment and find out about the different options available in council nursery settings from August 2020.
  • Download a nursery registration form from the website.
  • Complete the form and take it to your preferred (first) choice nursery. You should also take your child’s birth certificate.
  • If you are choosing a blend of more than one provider, apply to your council nursery first and then speak to your funded provider – private nursery, childminder or community group – about what hours you would like from them.
  • Make sure your application is in before 6 March 2020. Applications will still be accepted after this date, but they will not be considered in the first allocation process. Please get in touch with the Early Years and Childcare team if you have any questions or you can’t register by 6 March 2020.

School and nursery open as usual Thursday 19 September

Dear parents

As you know, today we had a problem with our heating in parts of the building and the children were accommodated in the school gym hall or with our friends and neighbours at the Burgh Primary School.

Engineers have visited and specialist cleaning and testing has taken place. The problem is resolved and we have been assured there is not, nor was, any risk to staff or pupils. We are grateful to our colleagues across  East Lothian for the swift support to ensure our comfort and safety and to our school staff for ensuring the children have also had a day of learning.

School and nursery will be OPEN as normal tomorrow Thursday 19th September.

Many thanks for your patience and support.

Well done boys and girls!

WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK MONDAY 13th May

Better weather, bright mornings and walking to school is here again! School bus people , you are already being eco friendly by all coming to school safely on ONE bus! Well done. For everyone else living in Musselburgh-make a big effort and Walk to School. It’s better for the environment and for our own kids establishing healthy life habits. This reduces traffic around the school. We know children are very concerned about the climate and damage to our planet.

If it’s just too far-please consider walking some of the way! Each class will have a chart and stickers to recognise the effort.

For parents -take a look at this website for ideas and information for you as a family.
