The National Parent Forum of Scotland has been working with Skills Development Scotland as part of the programme of work underway in Developing the Young Workforce. We are pleased to have produced some tailored information for parents, as part of our successful “in a nutshell” series, which covers the new Careers Education Standard launched at SLF 2015. This new nutshell will supply parents with basic information about the initial role of this programme in schools and signpost them to where they can get some more information if they need it.
Thank you to all who donated, we raised a total of £125.35!
A link to the consultation (and to the draft Plan itself and to a useful slideshow summary) is here: https://eastlothianconsultations.co.uk/childrens-wellbeing/children-and-young-peoples-service-plan
The consultation is live until 13 December.
Message from Sir Tom Farmer:
As last year was such a success, we are returning to St. Andrew’s Square Gardens on the East side of George Street, Edinburgh to celebrate the start of the Christmas season in Edinburgh.
This popular event brings together people from all denominations and will include carol singing led by the Exile Gospel Choir and of course everyone who comes along joins in for the launch of the advent Christmas Calendar.
This is the thirteenth year we have held this service and we will be joined by The Most Reverend Leo Cushley, Archbishop of St. Andrew’s & Edinburgh, Bishop John Armes, Dean of Edinburgh Diocese, Dr Karen Campbell, Moderator, Presbytery of Edinburgh, The Reverend Tony Bryer, City Centre Workplace Chaplain and Donald Wilson, Lord Provost of Edinburgh, who will join together in prayer and a blessing.
Please see the attached.
We would like to draw your attention to the following website www.esolwithus.org.uk , which may be of interest to parents of EAL pupils. Not only does it provide a wealth of information about the region, it would also allow contact with the service to find out about our ESOL provision.
Please see attached leaflet which is coming to families today (nursery copies to follow)03617 ELC What you say counts LR
