Mary, Queen of Scots

P6 have been working very hard in groups to solve problems! Each group picked a character from the era of Mary, Queen of Scots then had to work together to make a life-size 3D model of that person! Each group of children planned what they wanted their model to look like by making labelled diagrams and listing resources that they would need. Each group has very nearly completed their task, they have all worked very hard as a team to solve their problem. We will photograph our models and post them on the website when we are finished so everyone can see them.

P3 Art Exhibition

P3 are planning and organising an Art Exhibition to show the work that we have been doing about famous artists. We have been studying Claude Monet, George Seurat and Vincent Van Gogh. We have been learning about their different artistic techniques and styles and we have tried them out for ourselves!

This week we are selling tickets for the Art Exhibition. The adult ticket is 50p and the child ticket is 20p. They are for sale everyday of the week from 9.05am – 9.25am. If you would like to come and see the art work then please come and buy a ticket in the Infant corridor.

We have decided as a class that we would like to donate any money that we raise to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA). They help people that have a problem with their heart.

On the day of the exhibition (6th June) P3 pupils will have lots of different jobs. Some will be giving a tour of the exhibition, others will be explaining the techniques of the artists, some will be collecting tickets, others will be selling the refreshments…lots to do!

We will also have some parent helpers who will serve the tea, coffee and juice – hopefully they will not spill anything! There will also be cakes for sale at 20p each and the tea, coffee and juice at 20p each. Each child in the class will have one piece of art work to sell at 50p each.

If any P3 parents would like to donate some baking to be sold on the day of the exhibition it would be greatly appreciated.

We will keep you in touch with what is happening.

Here’s a sneeky peek at some of the art work you will see:
