The children from the Nursery took part in their sponsored Wheel-a-Thon during School Health Week.
They pedalled, scooted and pushed prams around a course on the school playground. They all worked really hard, had lots of fun and got loads of stickers!
Monies raised will help subsidise the cost of our summer outing to East Links Family Park, and buy some new resources for the nursery.
Primary 7 got the school moving last week, by leading us through an aerobic dance session at the start of each morning. It was great fun. Here are some photos:
“We had fun and it was a great day we all enjoyed it. It was a little bit challenging. Although Lauren hurt her wrist she knew that the team would do it. The cup stays in its rightful place, in our school Loretto. We
really deserved to win the John Home Robertson Cup Final Tournament. WE DONE IT AND IT WAS GREAT FUN!!!!!” Written by Loretto Girls Football Team.
We hope that everyone is trying their hardest to take the healthy route to school. It can be difficult to leave the car but even walking or cycling part of the way has benefits. A big thank you to all parents for supporting WTSW!
Thank you to the Primary 7 pupils who led us in our whole school work out this morning. It certainly got the blood pumping. Great fun was had by all and we look forward to starting the day in this way for the rest of the week. Remember that on Wednesday evening ALL parents are invited into school to sample some beauty therapy treatments and to try some ‘Healthy Nibbles’. If you can join us for Zumba on Thursday? Come to the gym hall for 3.30pm. This session is open to children, parents and staff.
Today Primary 1/2 and the Nursery Morning Group went on a minibeast hunt to the woods. We found lots of different kinds of minibeasts and will be learning all about them over the next few weeks! We will shortly be getting some caterpillars in our classes and hopefully we will see how they change into butterflies!
During the holidays Thomas went to the cinema to see a movie called The Princess & the frog. Although he didn’t really want to see it because it was his sister’s choice he did quite enjoy it. He got popcorn and chocolate to eat during the film.
On Easter Sunday, Gianluca went to a very big hill with his Nana to roll his easter eggs. They rolled really, really fast and Gianluca’s rolled much further than his Nana’s. He also helped with an easter egg hunt at The Yard in Leith.
They both got ‘loads’ of chocolate easter eggs but still have some left. Gianluca stopped eating his as he got a wobbly tooth!

As we’ve been on Easter holidays we will give you some news from our holidays this week.
Beth went to Leith Water World during her holidays. At Water World there is a big swimming pool, a jacuzzi and lots of water slides. Beth went with her Mum and her big sister, Amy and made some friends while she was there having fun! Beth also went for a very long cycle – she cycled all the way from Musselburgh to Bath St in Portobello and back…phew!!
Jason went to Musselburgh Races twice while he was on holiday. There was a trampoline there and also bumper cars as it was a family day. Jason enjoyed watching the horses race and he also seen some close up, they were very big. He also went to Dalkeith Country Park for a picnic and to play in the Adventure playground.
On Easter Sunday Beth & Jason rolled their easter eggs. They both got lots of chocolate eggs but haven’t eaten them all yet!
