Teddy Bears Picnic

On Wednesday 11th of May P1/2 and their teddies went on a fantastic trip to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh. We went to learn all about the important things that animals and plants need to survive. We had a great day and managed to picnic in the sun (while it lasted!) and met Edward Bear. We now know the S.W.A.F code for survival- shelter, water, air and food. We played games, had a teddy hunt and designed our own bear island. We kept smiling all day even although we got very wet in the rain showers. Thank you very much to our parent helpers who helped make this day a success.

Nursery Wheel-a-thon!

The children from the Nursery took part in their sponsored Wheel-a-Thon during School Health Week.
They pedalled, scooted and pushed prams around a course on the school playground. They all worked really hard, had lots of fun and got loads of stickers!
Monies raised will help subsidise the cost of our summer outing to East Links Family Park, and buy some new resources for the nursery.

John Home Robertson Football Tournament

The girls football team won the John Home Robertson Cup yesterday!

“We had fun and it was a great day we all enjoyed it. It was a little bit challenging. Although Lauren hurt her wrist she knew that the team would do it. The cup stays in its rightful place, in our school Loretto. We
really deserved to win the John Home Robertson Cup Final Tournament. WE DONE IT AND IT WAS GREAT FUN!!!!!” Written by Loretto Girls Football Team.

Walk, Jog, Cycle, Scoot or Run

We hope that everyone is trying their hardest to take the healthy route to school. It can be difficult to leave the car but even walking or cycling part of the way has benefits. A big thank you to all parents for supporting WTSW!

Health Week AND Walk to School Week

Thank you to the Primary 7 pupils who led us in our whole school work out this morning. It certainly got the blood pumping. Great fun was had by all and we look forward to starting the day in this way for the rest of the week. Remember that on Wednesday evening ALL parents are invited into school to sample some beauty therapy treatments and to try some ‘Healthy Nibbles’. If you can join us for Zumba on Thursday? Come to the gym hall for 3.30pm. This session is open to children, parents and staff.

MORE HOLIDAY NEWS FROM THOMAS & GIANLUCA

During the holidays Thomas went to the cinema to see a movie called The Princess & the frog.  Although he didn’t really want to see it because it was his sister’s choice he did quite enjoy it.  He got popcorn and chocolate to eat during the film.

On Easter Sunday, Gianluca went to a very big hill with his Nana to roll his easter eggs.  They rolled really, really fast and Gianluca’s rolled much further than his Nana’s.  He also helped with an easter egg hunt at The Yard in Leith.

They both got ‘loads’ of chocolate easter eggs but still have some left.  Gianluca stopped eating his as he got a wobbly tooth!
