Mock Court Project Update

On 28th September, some P7 children attended the Scottish National Gallery for a Mock Court Speciality Day.

This was a wonderful opportunity to meet some experts from the legal and tax profession! They gave the P7 children some advice for their Mock Court project. They pointed out some potential arguments that the solicitors could make and what the witnesses might say under examination and cross examination.

P7 are very excited about their project and working hard to complete their deadlines.

If you would like more information about the project, why not ask a P7? You can also find out more information at the mock court website:

Sports Day 2016

We have recently been advised by St David’s High School that the P7 transition visits will be on 8th and 9th June 2016 and as such clashing with our intended Sports Day.  Sports Day will therefore be re arranged and the new date confirmed in due course.

Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 Old Playground Games

As part of our toys topic Primary 1 and Primary 1/2 learned to play some old playtime classics! The children thoroughly enjoyed creating their own hopscotch and playing this traditional, well known game. They worked very hard trying to turn a hoop with a stick! They also enjoyed skipping and a team game of duck, duck goose. The children are excited to try these activities during playtime tomorrow. Have a look at the photos below.

Buddy Reading Session

Buddy Reading (2) Buddy Reading (3) Buddy Reading (4) Buddy Reading

On the 15th of September P7 had their first buddy reading session with P1. We helped them to pick out an important piece of punctuation in their reading books; a full stop! We had lots of fun reading fun stories and talking with our buddies. It was interesting to ask them questions about their work. The Primary 1 children were very happy to see their buddies and were excited to read different stories.
We look forward to our next buddy event.

Heart of learning

Golden Time in P1/2!

P1/2 have been learning all about the Golden Rules. On a Friday, if the children have followed the Golden Rules, they have earned all of their Golden Time! Golden Time is 30 minutes of fun! This week, the children played with play-doh, Junior Monopoly, a doll’s house, Buckaroo and a train track. The children loved Golden Time and will be working hard to keep their ruby slippers on the Yellow Brick Road every week!
