The eco-committee would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped to make our picnic a huge success. The weather was warm (but a little windy), there were lots of seasonal fruits and vegetables to be found and there was hardly any waste!!!!
Your efforts are very much appreciated!
P2/3 have been learning to write and tell the time using analogue and digital clocks. We have been playing games on the Interactive Whiteboard, setting clocks to show the time and we particularly enjoyed playing “What’s The Time Mr Wolf.”
As part of their World War Two topic P6/7 visited the Museum of Flight at East Fortune. We visited the war hanger and saw a flim about how East Fortune looked during the wars. We were then taken to Hanger 1 where we saw many planes that were used during the war, including a Spitfire. We saw planes from other countires too, I wonder if any of P6/7 can remember where they were from, and how we knew? (leave it as a comment if you can!).
Following on from that we were requried to take part in drill and tried on some kit. It was a great experience and we got an insight into what it would have been like to work in the RAF during WWII.
P6/7 have been learning tag rugby skills with Michael from the Ross High School Rugby club. This will continue until the October break so we are hoping the weather will still sunny for us.
The eco-committee are holding our first ever ‘One Planet Picnic’ on Thursday 29th September at lunch time. We would be really pleased if you could try hard to have a packaging free lunch and include at least one seasonal food. We would be delighted if you could lend us any picnic blankets for the day (if you have one) to make our picnic lunch more special! School lunches will still be available on Thursday!
Primary 5/6 will be holding our Macmillan Coffee Morning on FRIDAY 30th September from 10am till 12 noon.
We are keen to support this very worthy cause and hope that you will continue to help us help Macmillan nurses in the very special work that they do.
We are looking forward to seeing as many people as possible coming along for a coffee and some home baking.
Any donations for the coffee morning will be gratefully received on Friday morning.
Miss Harrisson is leaving on Friday 16th of August. She will be leaving as she will be having her baby in October. She will miss us all and we will miss her.We are looking forward to see her returned next year.
