P1 visited Tranent fire station. We had great fun learning about what Firefighters do and what equipment they use.
P1 are investigating different ways to develop their fine motor skills. These sessions are called “Funky Fingers.” Here are some of the activities we have tried……
P7 have been learning about different types of matter. They made oobleck (out of cornflour and water) and shared what they had made with P1. P1 were fascinated!
What a great day all the knights and princesses in P1 and P2 had yesterday! We have been learning all about life in a castle and after visiting Dirleton Castle, we decided to host our own castle banquet. Here are some of the photos from yesterday. We made marzipan fruits and iced biscuits, we ate roast chicken and baked trout. We decorated our own crowns and made lion and unicorn puppets! At the end of the day we learned a Medieval dance and listened to a story about Madam Dragon’s training school.
P1 and P2 had great fun watching a live author event being broadcast into our classroom. Alex T Smith, author of the Claude series of books, talked to us about his inspirations and his illustrations and writing. We drew along with him as he modelled for us how to draw Claude. The results were absolutely fantastic!
P1 had good fun making porridge. We are learning to follow instructions and about breakfast choices. Not everyone liked it, but everyone tried it! We had fun choosing lots of different toppings.
