Princes Trust: Get into Electrical Installation (Edinburgh College)


The Prince’s Trust are offering a free 6 week training course at Edinburgh College, Sighthill campus, which gives you training and work experience in the Electrical Industry along with support into an apprenticeship following successful completion of the course.

This 6 week course includes:

  • An introduction to the Electrical Installation sector with the opportunity to gain an apprenticeship
  • Experience in a variety of skills such as hand skills and wiring skills
  • Gain ECS (Electrical Certification Scheme) pre-apprenticeship card
  • Employability skill training to improve communication, reliability, team work and CV/interview skills
  • A work experience placement with a Scottish electrical contractor
  • GUARANTEED interview with a Scottish electrical contractor

Who is it for?

This course is for young people:

  • Aged 16 – 30 years old
  • Interested in pursuing a career in the Electrical sector
  • Actively looking for work and ready to start employment
  • Not currently in education, training or employment

And who are:

  • Motivated and enthusiastic
  • Punctual and flexible
  • Great team player
  • The confidence to interact with a variety of different people
  • Willingness to learn and develop their skills further

Torness power station is holding two information days for applicants .Advert goes live on 1 November 2017 and will close on 15 January 2018. The information days will prove invaluable to anyone considering a career with EDF Energy.

Come along, find out more and meet the team at the Torness on Saturday, 11 November and Sunday, 10 December. There will be four sessions on each day – 9:30am, 11:00am, 1:00pm and 2:30pm.
