A busy week of being a curator!

This week, I’ve been to visit so many different classes to train them as museum curators. It’s been great fun!

On Monday I visited the Primary 1 classes at Prestonpans and we studied some fossils. They are going to make a Dinosaur museum! They all did so well that they received Museum Curator stickers. You can see some photos on their blog and you can also read about where they discovered some dinosaur bones nearby!

Then on Tuesday I visited Wallyford Primary P1 classes. They are making a museum about their local area. We looked at objects like a washboard, iron and miners tokens.

On Wednesday, I visited Haddington Infants P3 classes who are making an Egyptian museum. We had lots of fun trying to work out if the objects I’d brought with me were Egyptian.

Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery

The newly refurbished Dunbar Town House

Today, we have lots of volunteers in helping us prepare for our new museums opening. The John Gray Centre and Dunbar Town House both open at the end of March. We can’t wait! I’ll post more details on here soon about when you can visit and what fun you can have over the Easter weekend!
