Medicine/vet medicine events
I’ve been made aware of some upcoming events from other departments in the university and external organisations that might be of interest to any new pupils at NBHS who are interested in pursuing a career in Medicine. These are open to anyone and are all free of charge.

1. Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) Schools’ Lectures Series
I was contacted by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) about an upcoming series of 3 lectures aimed a school pupils interested in pursuing Medicine. All the lectures are aimed at S4-S6 pupils.
The events will be taking place at RCPE’s building on Queen Street in Edinburgh, but if timings/distance don’t work for pupils, they will also be live streaming the events online. Further information, including how to sign up can be found at the RCPE link below:

2. UoE College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine: Let’s Talk about Health lecture series
The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine here at UoE are running a number of lectures in the coming months and into next year for those interested in Medicine or Veterinary Medicine. These don’t start until October (with the first two being for Vet Medicine, which is new for this year!), but I thought I’d flag them up to you. The link below provides details for each of the events (dates, times, descriptions).

For those interested in Veterinary Medicine, there are a number of events aimed at meeting staff and seeing facilities, including the Roslin Institute, Vet teaching centre and the Easter Bush Science Outreach Centre.
