Herbspace – Can you vote for us?

Many of you will already know about Herbspace, the social enterprise that myself and Jane McCormack have been setting up this last year.  I wonder if you could give us a hand with our fundraising by voting for Herbspace in the Aviva Community Fund.

For those of you who haven’t heard of Herbspace, we work with young people from North Berwick catchment area with poor mental wellbeing. Through activities centred around  growing herbs we provide early intervention support – running gardening sessions that incorporate emotional support mechanisms such as one to one counselling, peer support and meditation.  Every week   there are reports about the lack of support for young people’s mental health  and then today it is reported that over 300,000 adults are losing their jobs per year due to poor mental health.  For young people early intervention support when they need it can really help them struggling now – but it may also significantly reduce the chance of them suffering from more serious mental  illness as they progress through life  Feedback from the school has been excellent as they recognise Herbpace is offering a much needed service that they don’t have the resources to provide.
