Since the beginning of Term the Nursery has been so busy with lots of exciting events and experiences.

We hosted our very own Wedding Ceremony leading on from Role Play the children had enjoyed in the House Area.

Our Bridal Party were very smart and the Wedding went off without a hitch form the reading of the vows, exchanging rings, cutting the cake and signing the register.

Thank you to all who were able to attend our Scottish Celebrations.

Along with all the Scottish songs and dancing the children all tucked in to our National dish of Haggis Neeps and Tatties….YUM!!!!!

We had a wonderful morning visiting Crookston Day Centre to perform again for a very appreciative audience. The children had also made shortbread and presented it as a gift at the end of their performance.

The lovely scents of oranges, lemons and limes have been lingering in the Afternoon Nursery as the children explored citrus fruits in the water and for printing and also as a lovely scented dough.

There has also been lots of interest in the puzzle table and measuring as the children have fun solving tricky puzzles and measuring with the wiggly worms at the Maths Area.

In the Story Corner one of the most favourite stories is We Are Going On A Bear Hunt.

The children have learnt a song about a Grumpy Pirate and both Staff and children have been dancing the Sailor’s Hornpipe with dance moves including “Swabbing the Deck” and “Climbing the Rigging.”

We have even had an amazing Pirate Ship snack made by Mrs McDonald and children.

We were lucky to have special Pirate visitors who are part of an Early Years art, drama and music initiative called Starcatchers. Mrs Hood and Mrs McLachlan have been attending a ten week course with this organisation and enjoying sharing what they have learned with the children and staff. For more information check out the link( http://www.starcatchers.org.uk/creative-skills.)

Miss Tait has also shared a lovely video of the Pirate Activities on the TV screen in the hall.
