Ross High Reunion

Did you attend Ross High in the early 80s? If you started the school in 1980, there’s a reunion happening at the end of the month.

It’s on Saturday 31st August in the Brig Inn, Tranent at 7.30pm
Tickets £5 from various former pupils or from A1 Sheds, in Tranent.

Fiona Veerman (nee Carter,) is trying to find as many ex-pupils as possible. Please spread the word!

125 Celebration Garden Party

You are invited to come along to our Garden Party on the 19th of June to help us to celebrate our big birthday.
We’ll be gathering outside the front of the school from 1.30pm and will be there for lots of the afternoon. The children will be having strawberries and ice-cream and we’re hoping to have an ice cream van on site if any of our visitors would like to buy something nice too.
Each class will be singing a song related to the decade they have been learning about to take us through the history of our school. The school building and classes will be open throughout the afternoon if any former pupils would like to come in and have a look around and see if anything has changed!
We will have copies of the old school log books and we’re creating displays of old photographs so you can see how many you’re in!
If you have any old photos or interesting stories, we’d love to see them and we can share them on the day.
The afternoon will also give the community a chance to see Mrs Rafferty, Mrs Stirling and Mrs James before they start their new adventures in the summer.
We’d be grateful if you could pass the word about if you know of anyone who would be interested in popping along on the day.

Learning Story ‘Blether’

Each term, we get together with children from other classes to show them our learning stories and chat to each other about what we’ve been up to in class, at home and some of the things we do outside school.
It’s great to see all of the different things people do and share our achievements with our friends.

Cycling at Ormiston Primary School

At the end of last year, we achieved the Cycle Friendly School award and this year, we’ll be doing lots more on our bikes in and around the school grounds and out onto the tracks and paths nearby.

To help the staff keep up with all of our junior cyclists, we’ve bought some bikes from Halfords who gave us a generous discount including some free accessories.

Once Upon a Time…

A friendly dragon came to Primary 1J and told the class all about the world of fairy tales.
Their assembly had some familiar characters – can you spot Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood, the wolf and the Seven Dwarfs?
