Solar Eclipse

Pupils, Staff and Parents watched the Solar Eclipse today. We used pinhole projectors, telescopes and cameras with special lenses, safety glasses and even colanders to view the eclipse safely.

We noticed lots of different things while we were outside. It got darker and a lot colder while the Moon was in front of the Sun. There was also more wind.

Thank you very much to Kirsty Nicol for sending us these fantastic photos that she took on the day.

Scratch Day

Pupils from P5 and P7 led an event today to share Scratch with other pupils in the school and with parents.

This was part of an international Scratch Day with 234 Scratch Day events planned in 53 countries, including Argentina, Nigeria, and Vietnam and of course Ormiston Primary School. Our event was one of two in Scotland, and we shared it on the Scratch site here.
