Indian DanceOur classes took part in Indian Dance workshops today to celebrate the culture of India. We have all been learning about India over the last two weeks. Each class has to complete and send something to do with Scotland to a link school in India. P4/5 have been learning a Scottish Country Dance and completing powerpoints about the Scottish New Year.

P4/5 on Fairtrade
VOICE070We worked in groups this week to talk about the problems farmers face when growing rice in India and how Fairtrade has helped them to get a fair price for their product.

Fairtrade Fortnight
Primary 4/5 have been learning about the Scottish Wars of Independence. We hope to publish what we have found out on the blog soon. Our next topic is about Fairtrade. We are going to use Google maps to see just how many food miles some foods take to get to our shops in the U.K
Scots’ Assembly
Just a reminder to parents wishing to attend the Scots Assembly that this starts at 9.30am in the hall on Wednesday 1st of February.

School Inspection Report
At last we can share our good news with parents regarding the visit from HMI in November. We had great feedback from them at the end of the inspection week but it’s good to finally see it in black and white. Thank you to the many comments received on the blog and by email from parents and teaching colleagues.
