Nursery- Mud Kitchen Fun

Mud Kitchen Fun! on PhotoPeach

We are really enjoying Messy Play in the nursery at the moment. It is a great way for us to learn lots of new skills and most of all it is loads of fun! Our new mud kitchen is proving a massive hit and the children have been letting their imaginations run wild.

Nursery- A visit from the Firefighters!

At nursery this term we have been learning about ‘People who help us’. We had a very exciting visit from the Firefighters from the Musselburgh fire station. We had a chat about the role of the Firefighter and then we went out to see the fire engine. We got to be a Firefighter and sit in the back and we had a turn of the big water hose.

Nursery

The Nursery staff would like to welcome back all our children in the morning group and a warm welcome to the parents and children who have just started in the afternoon. We would also like to welcome Miss Nicola Johnson our new Nursery Teacher. We are looking forward to another fun packed year of learning in the nursery.

Pirate Party -Nursery and Primary 1

To finish our ‘Pirate’ topic we had a party in the nursery. We invited the primary 1 class who also were learning about pirates as their ‘People in the Past’ topic. We invited special guests Mrs Gardyne, Captain Redpatch (Mrs Redpath), Mrs Powlett and Miss Kinghorn. We dressed up, played pirate games in the gym hall, had pirate grub on the treasure island, listened to a pirate story and then danced to ‘Just Dance’ pirate music. It was great fun!

Nursery- Pirate Fun

Last term our topic was ‘People in the Past. For this we chose to learn about Pirates. We had lots of fun playing in our pirate ship going on adventures to find the buried treasure. We named our pirate ship the Cuttlefish and had a naming ceremony. We made pirate maps “x makes the spot” and pirate hats and eye patches. We went on a treasure hunt outside and practised our counting skills by counting gold doubloons. During the term we enjoyed listening to lots of pirate stories and had yummy pirate snacks.

Bookbug Pirate Session (p.m group)

We went to visit Ormiston Library for a bookbug session.
We listened to pirate stories, we sang pirate songs and played games.
We then were presented with our Bookbug Pirate Pack!
In the nursery we have been having great fun with lots of pirate activities.
