Investigating History Through Drama

We have been finding out about the Anglo-Saxon burial at Sutton Hoo through drama.

In this scene the class are re-enacting the Anglo-Saxons moving a boat from the river to the burial ground.  One team is pulling on ropes, one team is supporting the boat and one team is moving logs from the back to the front for the boat to roll on.

Next week we will be finding out about what else was found at the site and what happened to it.

Scary Vikings!

viking-helmetWe’ve been making Viking helmets by layering a balloon with papier mâché.  We then painted them and added metal strips and a nose guard.

Scary aren’t they?

Sport Relief

Last term P4/5 were busy organising Sport Relief.   We ran an obstacle course for the nursery children and on the 18th of March led the school in a two-mile run.  Everyone did so well and the whole school raised an amazing £1286.64 for Sport Relief.  Many thanks for all your support.
