All P7 pupils received a letter / e-mail in September with information about the P7 Profiles.
As P7 pupils prepare to move from primary to secondary school they are expected to add to their personal profile throughout the year. Pupils have been shown how to access and edit their profile. All P7 pupils have a username, password and profile site set up for them. Miss Eeles can reset passwords if necessary.
We have used the online profile for three years and pupils are often keen to add their own personal touch! We encourage them to make it personal by changing the theme and background colours. They can also add photos and documents, e.g. achievement photos from clubs and scanning in work and / or certificates they are particularly proud of.
P7 teachers will be looking at all the profiles at the end of January 2017 to discuss next steps with the pupils.
How to log in and update your profile:
1. Go to www.google.com and click on ‘Sign In’
2. Type your username and password
3. Click on the ‘Apps’ button and then ‘Sites’ (see picture)
4. Click on your site name (your profile)
Primary 7 had a great time at their Christmas lunch today! All five classes sat together and enjoyed lunch with their teacher 🙂
Reminder – Tuesday 20th December (PM)
P7 are looking forward to seeing the Dunbar Grammar School Christmas Show as part of their transition programme. We will all be having a packed lunch on Tuesday 20th December. If your child receives a free school meal then the school will provide one.
The show starts at 1.30pm and the P7 children will be dismissed from Dunbar Grammar School at 3.10pm. Pupils will be walking to DGS as a whole year stage so we ask that bikes and scooters are left at home on this day or left at Lochend Campus for collection on the way home.
Reminder – Thursday 22nd December (PM)
It’s the P7 Christmas Party on this day! Your child can bring party clothes to change after lunch. We will be playing a variety of games and dancing the Dashing White Sergeant, the Canadian Barn Dance and Virginia Wheel.
Scottish Parliament – January 2017
P7 will be learning about the Scottish Parliament in January and all five classes will take a trip to Holyrood for a tour of the building. They will also take part in a workshop led by staff at the Scottish Parliament.
We will send out a letter and consent form on the first day back in January. The cost of the trip is £5 per child.
P7 Transition Day – Thursday 26th January 2017
Our next transition activity is on Thursday 26th January 2017, held at Lochend Campus from 9.30 – 12.30pm. All cluster schools will take part in a ‘Hopes & Fears’ session, involving getting to know you & team building games. Pupils from Dunbar Grammar School will also be involved to answer any questions the P7s may have.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or Miss Eeles on 01368 865006.
