This week was Scots week for the whole school. All the classes did loads of things to do with Scotland. Here are some of our favourites – a Scots story teller came in and told us 2 stories. Over the week we watched a couple of videos (haud yer tongue) about Scots words and how Scots sounds when you speak it. We then made up a Scots dictionary. The whole school put on a Scots assembly for parents. Our class was doing traditional Scottish playground games. We thought there wasn’t going to be room for us to do it inside so we made a video of us doing the games in the playground. However the teachers changed their mind and we did our bit on the stage. We also started our King Loth show this week and we had our first sing through with the P5s & P6s. The boys in our class are going to need a lot of practice ! On Wednesday we started our Hearts football training again. It was inside because it was too cold outside and the funniest bit was when Aaron kicked the ball into the infants eating their dinner. Another good bit was doing a ceilidh with the P1s. It was good fun dancing with the little ones. We did some research on some Scottish history as well and also had time to fit in a PHAT Friday – Mr Cain went away to the P4s to do a Scots quiz which we helped to make and Mrs Murdoch and the P6 teacher came in with us and we designed Rennie McIntosh bookmarks.
