Well, the big day finally arrived. The children all had a final run-through of the show with the Charade Theatre group before break. We had to cram so much into so little a time that the outfits and weapons ( OK – grey plastic tubes! ) were only issued about 15 minutes prior to the first show starting at 11am. However as usual, the children rose to the occasion and performed superbly in what was, in reality, the dress rehearsal. How they all remembered the complicated movements, the entrances & exits as well as maintaining the quality of singing, I will never know. They all felt the adrenaline rush of the performance and our lunch break was abuzz with excitement. We were back right after lunch to take our places for the second show. We had a larger audience this time and the children, again, did not disappoint. If anything the afternoon show was even better than the morning performance and I’m sure the audience left feeling they had been royally entertained. Well done to all of P5, P6 and P7 from a very proud Mr Cain.
