P5 First Club Golf

Since returning from the Easter holidays P5 have been learning first club golf. We have learned 3 shots, rolling, chipping and full launch. We even had a chance to set up our own crazy golf course. On Wednesday the 11th of May Kate Green the first club golf  development officer came to show us more techniques and we got a chance to play a scramble. Despite the rain we all had lots of fun and have learned lots of new skills!!!

King Loth

On Monday the 21st of March P5, P6 and P7 put on a stage production written by the Charades theatre company called King loth. Back in January we started to practice and we learned lots of new songs for the big performance. Two week’s before the show the Charades theatre company came to our school to teach us the dance moves and stage directions. The day of the show we were all very excited and a little nervous. We put on two performances, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The audience really enjoyed watching it and gave us a huge cheer at the end. We felt very proud at what we had achieved and it was an amazing experience. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to take part in the show. We would like to thank the Charades theatre company, our teachers for helping us practice and everyone for coming to watch! We would also like to thank Mrs. Mc Call for giving us the opportunity to take part in this show. Have a look at the fab pictures of us performing in the P7 blog post!

P5/6 Celebrate Sabbath

As a part of our Judaism topic work P5/6 decided to celebrate Sabbath in our class. We all came to school dressed in our best clothes. We set up an area for a synagogue in our classroom and the boys went off to pray wearing kippahs while the girls lit the candles marking the beginning of Sabbath. Next we prepared our meal and listened to some Jewish music. After the boys returned we began our meal and wished each other a ‘good Shabbos’. We really enjoyed learning about Jewish tradition and had lots of fun eating our meal.

Watch This Space!!!

All of the P5’s, P6’s and P7’s took to the hall yesterday afternoon to hear all about an exciting new project they will all be participating in! The three classes will be working with the Charades theatre company, class teachers, Miss Sutherland and Miss Peebles to perform the musical legend of King Loth. It is a wonderful opportunity for all involved and we are all very enthusiastic about the task ahead. We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress over the coming weeks!

P5/6 Home Activities!

Hi all,

As you have probably heard I wont be seeing any of you  now until Monday! 🙁  I really hope you are all well and are still enjoying the snow! Over the next few days here are some activities you could try;

Why not make a winter scene collage using old magazines/newspapers  for our class display.

Please keep up all personal reading and don’t forget to record it in your reading diaries.

You could also revise your 6, 9, and 11 times tables.

Miss Carmody.

P5/6 Snow Day

Hi everybody,

Hope you are enjoying the snow and building lots of snow men! Remember to also take care in these weather conditions. Don’t forget to keep up your personal reading over the snow days and have a look over your spellings from last week! See you soon!

Victorian Fun at New Lanark

On the 11th of October Primary 5/6 and Primary 6 went on a visit to New Lanark World Heritage Site. After spending several weeks studying the Victorians we decided to take a trip to view a real Victorian village and mill. On arrival we travelled back in time on the Annie McLeod Experience ride and this was followed by a trip through the mill. Before lunch we dressed as Victorian school children and some of us even got the opportunity to become the Victorian School teacher! After lunch we were shown around the village by the tour guide who told us  lots of interesting information.  Overall it was a fun and educational experience for all!
