Parents Evening

We will continue to monitor the weather conditions throughout the day and will post any changes to the current arrangements on our blog. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Red Nose Day

A HUGE thank you to everyone for a fantastic effort!

P4 have been planning for the past few months how our Red Nose Day would work. They had loads of very interesting ideas and plans to make the day fun but raise money.

Throughout the week P4 sold Red Noses, decorated cakes and sold them whilst planning PHAT Friday. The pupils in P4 were very nervous that everyone would have fun and enjoy the dooking for red noses, PPS Talent show, our treasure and Scavenger hunt whilst designing the red nose for 2015.

P4 Pupils also visited our nursery pupils to help them design their red noses and helped them to dook for red noses- it wasn’t as easy as it sounds !

We had individual pupils carrying out other activities to add to our total, so well done to

  • Jennifer who was sponsored for walking on stilts for the day raising £70
  • Millie and Kaitlyn who played recorder for the family and neighbours raising £16
  • Jocelyn, who was sponsored for drinking only  water for 2 weeks raising £30 and
  •  finally the McKnight family who held a bake sale which raised  an additional £16.96.

P4 pupils would like to thank everyone who supported them in making the day a success and a special thank you to Mrs Egan for baking our 100 fairy cakes to decorate and sell!

Giving PPS a final total of £334.30

Many thanks to Mrs Wilson for counting and banking our donations.

What an incredible effort!

East Lothian Letter

Following the letter which was sent out yesterday from East Lothian Council we would like to reassure parents and carers that Pencaitland Primary School has had no direct involvement with the content of the letter and we are operating as normal today.

Taking into account todays weather conditions and in response to parental concerns, playtime and lunch time will be indoors.

Sports Day

We have assessed the weather and the field and  plan to go ahead with our sports today. Starting 1:15pm sharp !

June newsletter

June 2012

Dear Parents and Carers

A big thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who help and support the life and work of the school. We really appreciate you giving up your time to help us. If you have a free hour on a Monday morning (9.00 – 10.00 am) and would like to help with recorder practice next session, please contact Dorothy Ogilvy who organises the rota. Thank you so much for supporting the School Fayre. What amazing weather and what a great turn out! Thanks to the PTA, staff and other volunteers for all their hard work.

STAFFING

I am still waiting for information from the Business Manager before I can finalise classes and teachers. I will get the information out to you as soon as I can. Pupils will spend some time with their new teacher, in their new classroom before the end of the session.

Included in this newsletter are some additional dates for your diary to add to those in the last newsletter.

I look forward to seeing you at the planned events over the next month.

Best Wishes
