We have been counting money and working out change back.

As part of our East Lothian topic, we looked at some old buildings in Eastern Pencaitland such as the Smiddy and old school building during our outdoor learning. ‘I learned that the Smiddy used to be a blacksmiths’. On the 18th of March P1-7 took part in a two-mile run and raised an amazing £1286.64 for Sport Relief. Many thanks for all your support.
Our playground is almost finished and yesterday we had fun playing on the new climbing frame and cycling on the new road.
Yesterday the nursery children spent an energetic morning raising funds for the PTA by doing a sponsored walk. It was a beautiful autumnal morning and the children kitted out in wellies and with their faces painted followed at trail through the woods, finding items, looking for wildlife and searching for frogs. Spurred on with songs and games, the children made it back to the nursery for a celebratory medal. Well done boys and girls and a huge thank you to the PTA and many many parents who joined us on the walk.
Over the last few weeks the Nursery pupils have been learning about the senses. This week we have been thinking about sight and touch. We have enjoyed playing with textured playdough, made lots of mess with gloop and played with oats (making porridge) and rice (making risotto). We have also been looking at the colour of our eyes and making huge eye collages. Today the morning group enjoyed using their hands to bake truffles and the afternoon group made peppermint creams. It was such a lovely day today and we enjoyed snack outdoors.
This afernoon, the pupils in P1,2 and 2/3 took part in a karate taster session. We learned a lot of moves, karate terms and most importantly had lots of fun.
Information about local karate clubs has been sent home in the reading packets.
This morning, Primary 2 worked with the Drama specialist, Marjory Sweeney. We took part in a story based on a Sleeping Beauty theme. Everyone participated really well and Jordi played the part of the knight superbly. Well done Primary 2.
