All parents and carers are cordially invited to the Parent Council AGM on Monday 11th June at 7:30pm in the School.
If you have a question you would like to ask, please submit it in advance of the meeting, either via the school office or by e-mailing “email@example.com“. We currently have a vacancy for one parent member; if you are interested in joining the Parent Council, please speak to one of the members or come along to the AGM.
I would also like to remind you that the school will be open to parents on Monday 11th June, 2-3pm. You are welcome to visit all the classes and find out about some of the Olympic-themed work they have been doing.
The Literacy Team at Education Scotland is hosting a free conference for parents.
Once children have mastered the basics of learning to read, many parents are concerned about how best to develop their child’s skills and encourage a love of books. The conference will support parents in
helping children to successfully negotiate an information rich world and to become readers for life.
Nicola Morgan, the award-winning author, will deliver the keynote address. The conference will explore some of the perceived barriers to reading and discuss how parents can best support their children.
WHEN: SATURDAY 16TH JUNE, 10.00AM – 3.00PM,
WHERE:HILTON HOTEL, GLASGOW
If there is sufficient demand, limited creche facilities may be available.
On the 29th April it’s Pencaitland’s Annual Litter Pick Up day. The aim is to start at around 2pm. All kids taking part (and bringing parents with them) will be in with a chance of winning a digital camera.
Families or groups, from the church to the brownies, who would like to help out on the day are very welcome.
Visit Pencaitland.org for the full story on when, where and how to be entered in the prize draw and how to take part in the Litter Pick-up.
Whether you plan to take part in the PTA’s Fun Run on the 24th March, or you simply want to know which places would be good to catch all the action on the day, the PDF map will tell you what you need to know.
