PTA – Pencaitland Thank you ALL

What a night!

A message from PTA Chair, Vicky –

We are really pleased to announce that we raised £900 (profit) at last week’s Quiz Night.  We would like to say a huge thanks to the wonderful quizmaster Jon Heggie who made the night very enjoyable and entertaining.  Thanks also goes out to Winton Brewery who gave us a great deal on the very tasty local beer.  A special thanks to all our generous raffle donors who helped us raise over £350 on the raffle alone (I’ve included a full list below).  And finally, thanks to all those who came along, bought raffle tickets, spent money at the bar and made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Thank you to all our wonderful donors, both new and old friends of PPS

PTA Fun Run 5km route updated + Marshals still needed

In a minor change the route of the five kilometre Fun Run for Saturday 24th March has been altered.

The previous route took in the Boggs Holdings main road which lacks pedestrian footpaths. The revised route now avoids this, making it both safer and requiring fewer marshals on the day.

Parent and Teachers Association Newsletter Autumn Term 2011

Autumn Term 2011

I am delighted to introduce a new PTA team for 2011/12 to bring lots of exciting activities and fundraisers to the village this year. We are lucky to have 13 parent members along with Mrs Rodger and Mrs Campbell our two staff members.

Thanks to the size of the team we are very nearly able to provide each class with one or more representatives to whom you may feedback suggestions, volunteer your services or quiz about the up and coming fundraisers. The only year group who hasn’t managed this is the parents of the P6 children. Continue reading “Parent and Teachers Association Newsletter Autumn Term 2011”

Taking part in your Parents and Teachers Association

Dear Parent / Carer,

Now, more than at any other time, the role of the PTA in ensuring our children get the best from their time at Pencaitland Primary School is paramount. With increasing costs and decreasing funding the need for the whole of the school community to contribute to getting the best for our children is greater now than it ever has been. During the last school year PTA funding for trips, equipment, Christmas festivities, French Club and assorted projects, for both nursery and school children, amounted to over £6,000. Without the PTA these things would not have been possible.
