When we spoke to the children about taking part in the Walk to School Week Walking Bus, quite rightly, they wondered what it was!
Today we made an extremely long Walking Bus, with the children, their families and staff working together. In fact it was so long that when Parker looked back he commented, “Wow! Look at that” and when we crossed with John he said, “Now it’s a half bus”, because we had to cross in two groups.
Thank you to everyone who took part today. This was a very valuable experience. It played a big part in reinforcing and increasing our knowledge of Road Safety as well as all the other important reasons such as increased health and well-being, reduced traffic congestion and pollution. This is what our children said,
“It’s a workout, you get more energy” – Jack
“You can’t run, cos you might fall” Jaimee
“I learned if you hold your mum’s hand you won’t get knocked over.” Callum
“It’s healthy – you get fresh air.” Rhomey
