We have been extremely busy over the past few weeks at nursery. One of our children had talked about an activity they were going to try at home. With mum’s help, we were able to try this at nursery too. Joe was very good at giving us instructions on how to make ‘Grass Caterpillars’.
We were super excited when our real caterpillars arrived. We watched as they grew bigger and bigger and recorded their progress on a calendar chart. Soon they were inside their chrysalis and we waited patiently for them to emerge. On 4th June two painted lady butterflies emerged. We had to find out, using Google, what they would eat now. We discovered they like strawberries, apples and nectarines.
We are continuing to develop our garden and hope you are enjoying the beautiful splash of colour from our ‘bath planter’. The children have been taking great care of our plants and learning lots about nature. Thank you to everyone who has supported our garden project, we are delighted with the results. Thank you to Strawberry Corner for a fantastic visit, their advice and support.
