Celebrating Robert Burns in the nursery

We’ve had a fun filled week learning about our famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. The children participated in making some colourful tartan  and dancing to  ceilidh music. They’ve been listening to some of his poems – Up in the mornin’s no fur me’ and  ‘The moose’and learned some Scottish words. On Friday  the 25th of January we had a ‘pairty’ with a special Burns supper – haggis, oatcakes and Scottish cheddar cheese. We watched a display of HIghland Dancing and had a poem about a ‘wee dug’.

This week in the Nursery

On Wednesday afternoon we had a great music session with Dave Trouten. He was helping us learn about musical instruments and we got to play his guitar and  chose our favourite songs. We are looking forward to the next two Wednesday afternoons with Dave.

We also had loads of fun in the garden trying to catch dinosaurs.
