Education Accessibility Strategy 2016

East Lothian Council Education Service values and respects the diverse communities it serves and has policy and guidance documents in place to promote positive attitudes and eliminate discrimination and stereotyping in all of its establishments.

The Service has a legal duty to prepare a strategy to increase the physical accessibility of the school environment, increase the access to the curriculum and improve communication, especially in relation to the provision of school information, for those pupils who have disabilities.

Schools and nurseries must take the Accessibility Strategy into account in any management decisions and improvement planning.

Why We Are Consulting

We are about to start developing a new Accessibility Strategy and would like to gather your views on what we should include in our new action plan.

We would also like to hear about examples of good practice in East Lothian Schools and Nurseries where steps have been taken to improve accessibility.

By completing this questionnaire you will help up to prioritise what we need to do to promote positive attitudes and better access for our children and young people.

Should you wish to take a look at and complete this questionnaire it can be found on the East Lothian Consultation Hub.

Having spent 10 years on Pinkie Parent and last 2 as Chair, it’s time to move on as my last child moves to secondary. I would just like to thank all the parents, pupils and staff who have supported and contributed to the many events and issues that have taken place over the years. Already I am missing managing the Facebook Page but another willing parent is doing a fantastic job already. There has been significant changes with more to come with the new extension due to open. The school needs the support of Pinkie Parents and Pinkie Parents need the support of the school. I would finally like to wish everyone in the Pinkie School Community all the best for the future and thank you for being part of it. It is a great school community.

Summer Fair

fair2016(screen)It’s going to be another great Pinkie Summer Fair this year. The very popular Chocolate Tombola and equally popular Bottle Tombola are going to be returning, as is Bash The Beastie along with many other activities to keep you busy!  There will also be a range  of tempting cakes and ice cream to help replace all that energy used on the bouncy castle! There will also be a book, toy and school uniform stall selling some great items…more donations for this are welcome! Also don’t forget to return your tickets to enter the school raffle for the chance to win some great prizes including an iPad!
