It’s been another busy week in Primary 2/3 !
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who came along to our open mornings over the last 2 Thursdays. The children were very excited to have you all visit and loved showing you around our classroom.
You hopefully had an opportunity to see how busy and hard working we have been and many of you commented on our daily timetable and how much we cover in a day !
It was lovely to meet so many of you and I look forward to seeing you again next week at Parent’s Evening .
The Book Fair arrives in school next week and will be set up in the school foyer. .All classes will be given the opportunity to browse the books on offer (but not buy)on Tuesday 9 October .
P3-7 children who wish to buy can visit each morning between 9am and 10am on Wednesday ,Thursday and Friday of next week .(10th -12th October )
As with previous Fairs ,P1 and P2 can visit the Fair from 2.45 at the end of day on Wednesday and Thursday and at 12.20 pm on Friday with parents.
The Fair will be open each day after school Wednesday -Friday for all to visit.
Afternoon nursery children and their parents can pop along after the nursery session on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and the Fair will open next Friday morning at 8.30 am for the morning session parents to visit.
Please visit the Travelling books website for more information about the Fair
This page gives you details of the range of books on offer as well as allowing you to purchase and print off vouchers with special deals for your children to use at the Fair .
Previous Fairs have been hugely successful and allowed our school to receive thousands of pounds worth of free books .
We look forward to seeing you and thank you in advance for your support !
We are still urgently needing parent volunteers to run our Fair in the week beginning Monday 8 October .
If you are able to spare a hour between 9 and 10 on Wednesday and Thursday morning and 8.30 until 10 on the Friday your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to our 2 parent volunteers who will be running the Fair each day after school.
As mentioned previously it would be fantastic if we could have the Fair open for parents to visit when they attend Parent’s Evenings that week but we can’t do it without YOUR help !
If you are able to help in any way please get in touch with Mrs Dixon or the school office .
This week Primary 2/3 have been extremely busy.We are learning all about our body and we have been finding out how our heart works and taking our pulses.
We have been exploring different emotions and this week we have been focusing on anger. We have thought about how our body looks and feels when we are angry and have written stories about what makes us feel angry. We have created pictures of what we think anger looks like and have added these to our emotions floorbook.
Over recent weeks we have enjoyed making different patterns using shapes and colours and this week we have been learning about number patterns with odd and even numbers.
We are looking forward to showing our parents around our classroom on our open mornings on Thursday 27 September and Thursday 4 October .It would be appreciated if you could return your reply slips or speak to Mrs Dixon as soon as possible to let us know if you are able to join us.Many thanks to all who have replied already .
The school has successfully run a Book Fair twice a year for many years and our next Fair arrives in a few weeks time on Monday 8 October .
The Fairs are always hugely supported by children and parents who have enjoyed the wide range of books for sale .As a school we have also benefitted greatly from thousands of pounds worth of free books we have received from commission.
We need parent volunteers to run our Fair at the start and the end of the day so children and parents can visit . Parents Evenings are taking place whilst the Fair is here too and it would be fantastic if we could have it open on both evenings for everyone to visit.
If you are able to spare any time over that week to help out please contact the school office by Friday 21 September or speak to MrsDixon directly for more information,Opening times have not been arranged yet as we can be flexible with this and work round what suits our volunteers best.
Thanks in advance for your support with this .
