The children have been busy on the new climbing frame put up in our garden this week. They have been learning how to move their bodies well in different ways, exploring how to control it and how to use and share space. They have been developing their movement and coordination skills through practice and energetic play and discovering that being active is a healthy way to be. They have also been waiting their turn to climb up and either slide or jump down.

The afternoon children have been learning all about how to move their bodies well, developing their gross motor skills by balancing and moving from one stepping stone to another. They had to use their muscle control, coordination and balance as they carefully made their way from one side to the other or go round and round the circle.
The children showed good turn taking and sharing the resources. As well as cheering each other on and giving a clap when they completed the challenge.

P4B’s week of learning

This week we learnt about Viking long houses. They are made of wood or stone or wattle, their roofs were made of turf or straw. Animals lived in the byre, to protect them from cattle thieves and the winter. Vikings didn’t have glass in their windows they closed them with shutters. The floor was below the ground. The closer you lived to the fire the more important you were.

We used our awesome imagination to create a story about a bird dreaming to get out of its cage.

In music we were learning to read musical notes.

This week in numeracy, we looked at the relationship between adding and subtractions as well as multiplying and dividing.
