Our First Weeks Back at Nursery

We have been learning lots in our first weeks back after the holiday!

We have been using stories and songs to give us ideas for drawing and writing.

The Rainbow Fish, Elmer and Hooray for Fish have been helping us learn about pattern, colour and counting.

We have been using our own ideas about our play areas to add some new toys. We are learning how to listen and take turns to share our ideas.

We have been talking about our own experiences outside nursery which led to a very exciting discussion about swimming one morning!

Both AM and PM groups have made a great start to the new term.

Well done to everyone 🙂

This week in P5A…

This week in Primary 5A we have been doing….

  • Cursive handwriting in our literacy jotters.
  • Reading our class novel The Iron Man.
  • We have written and imaginative response saying the Iron Man is.
  • We made a restaurant and menu for the Iron Man… For example Limo Lasagne and Metal Magic Meatballs.
  • Addition on robots for numeracy.
  • Something secret in science….

Our secret experiment was also one of our most interesting things this week. Turning out of date of crackers, orange juice and half a banana in to digested waste. We poured all of the ingredients in a plastic bag and mushed it all up then poured it all into a stocking to make it look like it was digested waste.

Strictly Come Pinkie 2017

On Wednesday we had this years annual Pinkie Talent Show…. with the them of Strictly Come Pinkie!

It was an entertaining feast for your eyes and ears! We had dancing, singing, comedy and gymnastics on show. In our eyes, everyone was a winner and all were so courageous to perform in front of such a huge audience! Well done everyone. Our fabulous winner this year who took away the glitter trophy was Maddie from P6 who sang ‘The Climb’.

We want to say a big thank you to our panellists who were Mr Scott, Alan Penman, Colin Smith and Anna Potter!

Check out the spectacular event which happened on Wednesday, captured by Mr Smith and his camera.
