P6 Mount Everest Videos

The students in P6 have been exploring the theme of Mount Everest and here are a couple of examples of their work. The first short video shows their models of the famous mountain – check out the Yeti. We also show some examples of fact files too.

We also recorded a short multi media presentation where everyone put a slide show together and wrote a short script. We hope you enjoy it.

And yes, there is a lot more to come , we recorded an interview with our model gurus too. So watch this space.

Pinkie Pirates

Primary 1 are Pirates!

We have been learning about characters and stories. We have been using drama and art to develop our ideas for writing our own pirate stories.

“We are pirates!

We made pirate hats.

We have been painting a pirate room.

Maybe we can build a pirate boat or paint a pirate boat.

Some are good and some are bad.

Pirates can fight sharks.”

Keep a look out on our blog for our imaginative pirate stories and fantastic illustrations…coming soon!

P1b Creates Numeracy Games

All week P1b have been working together to create Numeracy Games to take part in the Showcase which took place on Friday.

The children have worked in groups to research, plan, create, play and evaluate their own game.

Our final games included Animal Bingo, Build a Pirate , The Leprechaun Game and The Treasure Hunt Game. We made our own rules, collected our own materials and played the game in our groups to make sure they were successful. We had lots of fun and we all thought that this helped our number work. We hope you enjoyed viewing our games at the drop in, but just in-case you couldn’t make it here are some pictures of us hard at work!

P4-5 Numeracy Games

Numeracy Games on PhotoPeach

We were making numeracy games for our showcase. It took us a while to make them, but we had fun. We were able to share our knowledge of doubles, adding and subtracting digits and using empty numberlines. We were using our listening skills, working as a team, writing, creative/imaginative skills and thinking skills.
