We are very sorry to have to shut the nursery today, Wednesday. We have unfortunately experienced vandalism of broken windows to the extent in the nursery that glass shards have gone through everything and it is essential that the nursery be deep cleaned before we have access for the children.
Thursday arrangements for Teddy Bears Picnic
We intend to go ahead with the Teddy Bear Picnic but only for a shortened time in the garden. We will have the toilets open. AM Group 10.00-11.00 PM group 1.00-2.00
If you can bring your child to the picnic tomorrow and stay that would be great. Please feel welcome to bring younger siblings.
Sorry no nursery deep clean will commence next week.
We are very sorry to end the nursery year in this way but wish you all a very happy and safe holiday.
Hello to all our nursery children and families,
I hope you are all keeping warm, safe and well during this cold, snowy time.
Here are a few ideas for activities you might want to try while our nursery is closed…
Outside (if it is safe)
Make snow creatures (as a change from snow men!)
Have snow ball throwing challenges (like how far can you throw, make a target to hit, win points)
Make a snow obstacle course
Treasure Hunt – hide a toy for children to find
Write or draw in the snow with sticks
As it is world book day, enjoy some stories together, there are online stories and activities on the website below…
The Big Little Book Corner
You could still dress up as your favourite character and maybe act out your favourite story using funny voices!
Create a snowy scene in a shoebox from recycled materials
Make up your own stories with a snow theme
Create a cosy indoor story den
Have fun and enjoy some time to play together!
Looking forward to hearing all about your snow days,
On Friday 15 December we’re inviting all pupils to take part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.
The whole school and nursery will be taking part, with everyone getting the chance to show the world their silly side by wearing their favourite festive knits for the day.
We’re asking pupils to make a £1 donation, or whatever they can give, to help save children’s lives around the world.
The money they raise will help Save the Children give the world’s forgotten children a brighter future. It could help bring essentials like healthcare, education, protection and food to the millions of children around the world who are missing out on the most basic support.
And you won’t need to splash out on snazzy new sweaters to join in the fun – simply decorate an old woolly to create your own crafty masterpiece, or wear something festive.
We’d really appreciate your help to make Christmas Jumper Day a huge success.
With your support we’re looking forward to a woolly great day!
Congratulations to Mylie Duff and Brooke Davies from our nursery!
Both girls have received a Special Merit Award from the National Galleries of Scotland Tesco Bank Art Competition which had over 7,700 entries from all over Scotland. The theme this year was Feathery Friends – Mylie chose to paint a flamingo and Brooke painted an owl.
The girls will be collecting their prizes this weekend.
Their paintings will be framed and displayed at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art – Modern ONE, from 10 June – 24 September 2017. The exhibition will then go on tour to Eastwood Park Theatre Gallery, Giffnock and Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries until spring 2018.
For more information see the link below
We are very proud of their achievements! Well done and thanks to all the children from our nursery who took part in the competition – we have displayed all of their entries in the nursery.
Pupil council are organising fundraising for Comic Relief on Friday 24th March and would like to invite nursery children to dress up for a £1 donation. Red noses will also be on sale during each session for £1.
We will also be offering biscuit decorating and face painting activities on the day – please let us know if you do not wish your child to take part in either activity.
