Nursery Activities

Our next groups of children will be starting Nature Nurture next week with Nikki and Mrs Dixon .Thanks to parents who volunteered to join us we will see you on Monday !

On Tuesday 31 October we will be doing  lots of Halloween activities and children can come dressed up if they wish .Please could everyone bring an apple for dooking.

At Parent’s Evening the teachers gave out parental consent and photograph permission forms to all parents  whose children were with us last session  . It would be appreciated if these could be returned as soon as possible . Extra copies will be available at the door if you need them .

This week in nursery

Thank you to everyone who attended parents evenings this week. It was lovely to see you all and have your valuable input into you child’s learning and development.

Could we please request that all paperwork be returned to the nursery by Friday 13th October.

October Holiday – week beginning 16th October including Monday 23nd October (an Inservice day for staff). We look forward to seeing everyone back at nursery on Tuesday 24th October.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Book Fair this week – it was a huge success and we will use some of the commission to extend and enhance our story sack collection!

Here is a little summary of some of our learning this week!

Book Fair next week

We are running a Scholastic Book Fair on Wednesday 4 October until Friday 6 October .

The Book Fair will be open to parents from 9-9.30 each morning and 2.45 -3.45 at the end of the day (12.20 until 1pm on Friday).

The Fair will also open early on Friday morning at 8.30 to allow nursery parents to visit

This year’s Fair coincides with our Parent’s Evenings on Tuesday 3 October and Wednesday 4 October. It would be fantastic if we could have the Book Fair open for parents on both evenings. In order to facilitate this we need your help! If you are able to volunteer your time for part or all of an evening please leave your details with the school office and Mrs Dixon will contact you.

Our previous Book Fairs have generated at least 50% commission of the total monies raised which we have used to provide books for our  library, story sacks in nursery and group readers for literacy so your support really does help!

National survey on the expansion of free early learning and childcare in Scotland

National survey on the expansion of free early learning and childcare in Scotland

As you’ll be aware the Scottish Government is planning to nearly double the hours of free early learning and childcare by 2020. Because the views of parents and carers are crucial for the success of this expansion, the Government has commissioned independent researchers to undertake a survey of parents.
The survey link is www.bit.ly/elc-survey

All parents taking part will have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw and have the chance to win one of 10 x GBP100 cash prizes.
