P1C update!

We have had a busy time in the week back from our lovely 2 weeks holiday!

On Wednesday, we had a visit from a Judo specialist. We had great fun learning different moves and the rules of Judo. You can see some of our moves  in the photos!

In the holidays, Emma went skiing! Emma said that it was her first time but she was so good that she won a medal! You can see her with her medal in the photos! Well done, Emma! What a brilliant achievement!

We had a special visit from Maggie’s mum this week who came in to do some more Art with us. The children all said they absolutely loved it! Have a look at the amazing artwork in the photos. Thank you again for giving up your time to come in and work with us!

On that note, if anyone else has anything they would like to come in and do with the children then please come and have a chat, we would love to have you in!

Space and dancing in p1c

Today we had a visit from a drama company who read us the book ‘Giraffes Can’t Dance’. We then had to learn the dances that the animals did in the book: ‘The Waltz’, ‘The Cha-Cha’ and ‘The Tango’. We loved it and we were all so good at the dances!!

We also learnt about stars today. We learnt 4 things about them:

  1. They are made from gases and fire (Leon amazed us with his knowledge!)
  2. The can be big or small.
  3. They can be hot or cold.
  4. They can be yellow, white, red or blue.

We used black paper and cotton buds to make the stars in art. You can see photos of us doing this.
