This week in nursery

Thank you to everyone who attended parents evenings this week. It was lovely to see you all and have your valuable input into you child’s learning and development.

Could we please request that all paperwork be returned to the nursery by Friday 13th October.

October Holiday – week beginning 16th October including Monday 23nd October (an Inservice day for staff). We look forward to seeing everyone back at nursery on Tuesday 24th October.

Thanks to everyone who supported the Book Fair this week – it was a huge success and we will use some of the commission to extend and enhance our story sack collection!

Here is a little summary of some of our learning this week!

Book Fair next week

We are running a Scholastic Book Fair on Wednesday 4 October until Friday 6 October .

The Book Fair will be open to parents from 9-9.30 each morning and 2.45 -3.45 at the end of the day (12.20 until 1pm on Friday).

The Fair will also open early on Friday morning at 8.30 to allow nursery parents to visit

This year’s Fair coincides with our Parent’s Evenings on Tuesday 3 October and Wednesday 4 October. It would be fantastic if we could have the Book Fair open for parents on both evenings. In order to facilitate this we need your help! If you are able to volunteer your time for part or all of an evening please leave your details with the school office and Mrs Dixon will contact you.

Our previous Book Fairs have generated at least 50% commission of the total monies raised which we have used to provide books for our  library, story sacks in nursery and group readers for literacy so your support really does help!

Our First Weeks Back at Nursery

We have been learning lots in our first weeks back after the holiday!

We have been using stories and songs to give us ideas for drawing and writing.

The Rainbow Fish, Elmer and Hooray for Fish have been helping us learn about pattern, colour and counting.

We have been using our own ideas about our play areas to add some new toys. We are learning how to listen and take turns to share our ideas.

We have been talking about our own experiences outside nursery which led to a very exciting discussion about swimming one morning!

Both AM and PM groups have made a great start to the new term.

Well done to everyone 🙂
