2A1 were asked their thoughts on the world. What did they wish and hope for and what did geography mean to them. Some interesting results.

Geography Drop in Sessions

If you need a little extra help with your homework, want to go over something done in class or need help with revising for tests or exams come along to the department at the following times

Tuesday 3-45pm – 4.45pm
Thursday 1.10pm – 1.45pm

Royal Highland Show

Once again S3 Geographers will be joining with Home Economics in a joint trip to The Royal Highland Show on Thursday 23rd June. This is an ideal opportunity to see first hand modern farming techniques and changes to the industry such as renewable energies and organic farming. Opportunities to try new foods, see the best in Scottish farm animals, take part in the Army Obstacle Course and collect lots of freebies. This is a day out that puts the fun into learning –  one not to miss. Return slips must be handed to Mr Lanyon by the 27th May.

Edinburgh Field Trip

S3 Standard Grade students, during the past week have spent an afternoon in Edinburgh completing land use surveys and interviewing members of the public. The trip was aimed at identifying the different types of land use within the area of Princes Street and George Street and investigating the methods, frequency and travel of visitors to edinburgh.
