Preston Lodge staff supported this very worthwhile cause when enjoying a ‘Baked Potato’ lunch recently- provided by the Home Economics department. £180 was raised and sent off to Macmillan to assist with the essential work for those living with Cancer.

The S2 ‘Cook Club’ is starting this year on Wednesday 29th October and will run weekly till 3rd December. It is open to S2 pupils on a ‘first come’ basis. Booking forms are available from the Home Economics department or below. Names will be taken on receipt of the form and payment for the course.
Take part in this year’s Rotary Young Chef competition. It is open to all S1-S5 pupils who are interested in cooking and can come up with some ‘imaginative’ ideas for a main course and dessert, within a budget of £10 for 2 people. Intermediate 1 Hospitality pupils entertained almost 40 local residents,relatives and friends for an excellent ‘Afternoon tea’, accompanied by musical entertainment from various solo and group pieces played by S4/5 pupils from the music department. It was an excellent opportunity to link with the community and offer a ‘ flavour’ of what the pupils do within their course and the Home Economics department.
