Trips, Visits & Fieldwork

Geography is all about understanding how the world works, from how the landscape was formed and shaped, to how humans interact with it. Getting out of the classroom allows us to experience this first hand.

We currently offer the following opportunities:

S1/S2 – Local studies based in and around the school and Prestonpans

S3 – Dynamic Earth & German Christmas Market, Royal Highland Show

S4 – Fieldwork Residential at Innerwick (September), Edinburgh (Land-use survey)

Higher – Yorkshire Dales (Karst Landscapes), Yellowcraigs (Psammoseres), Edinburgh (Land-use Zones)

International Trips are offered to students in S4 -S6. These trips are open to all pupils but priority is given to those studying Geography or another subject associated with the trip.
