MR Tracker hits Preston Lodge…
Over the last few weeks Miss Balsillie has been undertaking training in Maths Recovery. The department have subsequently been able to make use of this new expertise in the group by assessing our Enhanced Learning Provision pupils in class.
The ELP maths programme has always focussed on active learning however the MR Tracker has allowed us to concentrate our efforts in specific areas with each individual child according to their needs (determined by our most recent assessments).
MR Tracker is a joint project between East Lothian Council and The Maths Recovery Council UK & Ireland. It is has been adapted from the SNAPTM teacher development programme (Math Recovery Council US) to provide class teachers with an insight into Maths Recovery, moving the teaching of numeracy to a constructivist and active approach.
