Battle of the Bands – 8 November
S5 STRESSBUSTER AFTERNOON
A reminder that all S5 students are involved in a Stressbuster event periods 5 and 6 on Wednesday 1 March. Lists will be displayed outside the assembly hall to remind you of the sessions you have selected. Please check the venue for each session.
Opportunity for S3-S6 female students: be a Stonemason for a day
St Mary’s Cathedral are keen to raise awareness of careers within Stonemasonry amongst females. They are offering S3-S6 females the opportunity to spend a day at the workshop and discover a possible exciting career. During the day those attending will:
- Learn the art of letter carving
- Use the various tools used in Stonemasonry
- Meet Erin (current female apprentice)
- Have the opportunity to ask questions to Andrew Ramsay, Master Stonemason
Wednesday 8th March from 10am until 2pm. Lunch will be provided.
Those interested after the open day have the opportunity to participate in a work placement during May (or another date.)

All S5 or S6 students intending or considering University should attend this event.
It is being run on the Wednesday afternoon to minimise disruption as students will only need to miss one academic lesson.
The cost will be £4.00 per student to cover the cost of the coach there and back.
There are only 66 places available strictly on a first come first served basis.
Consent form and £4.00 must be handed in to Mrs Wilson in the guidance office to secure a place. (See below)
Once all places have been allocated and a place confirmed Miss Patterson will arrange for those going on the trip to register for a ticket with her during SE at the start of next term.
