EMA Info

An EMA ( Education Maintenance Allowance) is a weekly payment of £30 paid directly to eligible students who are continuing in post-compulsory education (i.e. beyond the age of 16). Summer leavers ( those born between 1st March 1998 & 30th September 2001) will now have received a pack inviting them to submit their application. We need to receive the completed application into our office by 30th September – any awards received after this date will not be backdated until the start of term.

Winter leavers , remaining at school who will be eligible for an award from January, will be sent an application form directly by the team in late November. If you need an application form, these are available from the school office, the EMA department ( emas@eastlothian.gov.uk ) or online www.eastlothian.gov.uk/emas
