We are an East Lothian based, not for profit organisation that delivers adventurous outdoor activities, in the School Holidays, for children aged 8 to 14. We run these activity programmes in partnership with East Lothian Council’s Outdoor Learning Service.
Activities range from things such as kayaking, canoeing and rock climbing to coasteering, trail cycling and bushcraft. These activities offer the opportunity for children to build confidence, self esteem and resilience. These days also offer a great social setting for young people and a chance to interact with peers in different settings.
We also run an ASN Adventurous Activities provision for children with additional support needs, and their families – this is funded by ELC and enables access to our activities for children who struggle to access mainstream activities. These free sessions run fortnightly at the weekend. More information on this can be found at www.venturingout.org.uk/asn-provision. If you have families that you think may benefit from this provision, please put them in touch.
