Morning all – everyone on the France trip is absolutely fine. They are on their way to Bruges today as planned.
After 18 months of planning and fundraising the Ecuador expedition groups left from Glasgow Airport for Quito on Saturday (25 June) afternoon. Having packed their rucksacks for what they hoped would be the last time they spent the morning having their kit checked by Outlook Expeditions to make sure that they had not forgotten any essentials (ie passports etc) and did not have any luxury items with them! Hairdryers and tongs don’t work very well in the Amazon jungle!
After getting the all clear, being given their tents, cooking stoves and mosquito nets (!) they all headed off to the airport. Being true backpackers they settled themselves on the floor of the departure lounge and amused themselves until check-in opened.
After checking in they were finally off on their long awaited adventure!

S4-6 students who are leaving school after their exams must complete a leavers form that can be obtained from the school office, and all books borrowed from the library should be returned.
Any Longniddry pupil requiring transport to and from school during study leave/exam period may use the public First Bus service as long as they carry their bus pass and examination timetable with them.
There are a number of students who still have documents which Ms Armstrong needs in order to send off the collective passport application. Could they please pass the documents to Ms Armstrong in CDT as soon as possible. If you are not sure what you still need to bring in see Ms Armstrong for further details.
All students should have received a copy of the final version of the Easter Revision Programme and Parents Letter. Students who have not yet signed up for revision classes should do so as soon as possible with the named teacher. All students who have signed up must attend or provide a letter from their parent explaining why they committed to attending but were unable to. Take advantage of this opportunity to improve your chances in your SQA exams – it is your future!
Anyone who has not received the revision programme or wishes further information, should see Mrs Scott in Business Education.

We hope as many S3 parents as possible will be able to come to our Back to School Evening on Wednesday 23 March from 6.30 pm – 9.00 pm. This promises to be a very special evening, with S3 students taking full responsibility for organising and running ‘hands on’ sessions for parents/guardians. You will have heard a great deal in the press about how schools and subjects have changed in recent years and this evening will give you the opportunity to experience, at first hand, these changes.
The format of the evening is as follows:
6.30 pm – 6.45 pm Welcome by Mr Clark and allocation to lessons
6.45 pm – 7.30 pm Lesson 1
7.30 pm – 8.15 pm Marketplace and refreshments
8.15 pm – 9.00 pm Lesson 2
There is a wide choice of lessons for you to participate in from Funky Fitness to Ready Steady Cook to Living without your SatNav. Everyone will be given their first choice and we will make sure that if your son/daughter is organising a session you will work with them. Please return the choice sheet to your son/daughter’s Register Teacher asap.
We look forward to seeing you on the night.
