S2 Course Choice Information Evening: 3rd Feb 2009

W/B Monday 26 January

Preliminary PINK course choice sheet issued to pupils during SE lesson

Tuesday 3 February

Information Evening for Parent (7.00 – 8.00 pm) (Hall)

Wednesday 18 February

Return of PINK course choice form to Guidance Teacher

Friday 27 March

S2 report and final BLUE course choice form issued

Wednesday 1 April

Parents Evening (consultation with subject teachers)  4.30 – 6.30 pm (Hall)

Thursday 2 April

Return of BLUE confirmation form by pupils to Guidance Teacher

Once the blue final choice forms are returned, we will inform pupils if we are unable to provide a match to their 1 – 5 choice plus reserve.  These pupils will have to choose an alternative subject(s).

Open for business

There is a severe weather warning issued by East Lothian Council.

Preston Lodge High School intends to OPEN tomorrow – Tues 3 February 2009 as normal.

However – as a precaution – all pupils should be aware of where they will go – i.e. neighbour/friend/relative should it be necessary to close the school early.

Parents should be alert to all text messages sent by the school throughout the day.

PrestonLodge.net will be updated as required and information about East Lothian Council school closures will be broadcast on Radio Forth.

We have been informed by East Lothian Council Transportation Dept that due to the snow the school buses will departing school at 1pm.

Port Seton, Cockenzie and Longniddry pupils will be leaving school at 1pm.

The school will remain open for all pupils who do not travel by bus.

The S5/6 Art & Design prelim scheduled for this afternoon has also been cancelled. Pupils involved in this should contact their Art teacher to confirm the revised arrangements

Severe Weather Warning Information

There is a severe weather warning issued by East Lothian Council.

East Lothian Council will broadcast information to parents via Radio Forth.

S4 Lagganlia Weekend Jan 2009

A group of S4 pupils accompanied by staff spent the weekend of the 9th January at one of the Self-Catering Lodges in the grounds of the Lagganlia Outdoor Centre near Aviemore.Lagganlia Centre

In the freezing cold (see the pictures of a frozen Loch Morlich) they took part in a number of activities and had great fun.

Tickets on Sale: Burns Supper – 29th Jan 2009

We are holding our annual Burns Supper and Ceilidh on Thursday 29th January at 6.30 pm. Robert Burns

This fantastic evening of Scottish food, fun, music & dance is open to S6 pupils, staff, parents and members of the local community.

If you wish to attend, tickets are priced £10 (includes a welcome drink and 3 course meal).

Tickets are available from the school office. (tel 01875 811170)

Proceeds from this event will be used to support school funds.

Senior Dance 2008

The Senior dance was a tremendous success. Once again the pupils of Preston Lodge made a teriffic effort to look their very best and danced all night. Their conduct was real credit to themselves and their families.
